Below are reasons for which I started the site.

My firmly held belief that the Trump administration is doing something absolutely terrible to this country.
Like a lot of people, I care about my country and I want to do something tangible to demonstrate that care.
My belief in the power of one - the power of me, the power of you, and the even greater power all of us together.
And lastly there seems to be a relative shortage of sites that give the average citizen some practical guidance on what they can actually do to help protect and preserve American democracy.

As a semi-retired family doctor I have cared for a lot of people in my career. Some required a lot of care and some less. Right now I believe our country is need of a lot of care from a lot of us - Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.

The seriousness of what the Trump administration is doing to our country may not be readily apparent to all. But for the close observer the signs are there.

I liken these signs to tests I might do on a patient who might be feeling just fine or have minimal symptoms. For example, a woman has an abnormal mammogram and it is followed by a biopsy that shows breast cancer. She might not even have a lump. But we know that if that cancer is not attended to, she will die in the not too distant future.

I believe our political system has been sick for quite a while but since Trump, it has drastically worsened. If we do not deal with this illness in a timely and peaceful way, we may not have much of a country left - at least not a country we would recognize or want to live in.

Doctors have been known for telling it like it is. While my diagnosis of our political system may sound a bit pessimistic, dealing in reality and truth is also a way to life and hope.
