Harris as President

Much of this website has been about how Trump is unfit for office. But what about Kamala? How is her fitness for the most difficult job in the world?

The following are a few of my conclusions from what I have directly observed in watching her on film from a variety of news outlets including the debate she did with Trump.

Harris is a strong leader. She can think on her feet and she can articulate a message. And when it comes to engaging with other leaders (e.g. from congress, the senate, and with heads of state of other countries), she will do well. One such example is in the debate where she clearly dominated Trump.

Harris has had great training for the job of president. She has spent 3 1/2 years or so serving as vice president and thereby seeing first hand what is required of the job. She has also been a US Senator, the Attorney General for California - the largest state in the county and a prosecutor.

Harris grew up in the middle class. She knows middle class values and challenges including the need for lower prices, higher wages, and more housing.  She talks about an opportunity economy.  I believe she sincerely wants to address those challenges.

I do not have a problem a woman in this top job. I have served several women leaders including women as CEOs of health care systems. The senior pastor of my church is a woman and is one of the best pastors I have ever had. Women bring something special to any job and she will bring something special to the job of president of the United States of America.

I do not agree with her on several of her positions including that of abortion. I believe that life begins at conception. See the ‘Pro-Life but not Pro-Trump’ on this site for more discussion on this topic.

It is also important to recognize that Harris is not Biden. Yes, they are of the same Democratic Party and will likely have some policy similarities.  But she will be her own person and will have her own way of viewing and dealing with the issues.

I will be proud to cast my vote for Kamala Harris!
